Starfall is a wonderful free phonics-based web site for beginning and emergent readers. Children can play phonics games, read books, and watch movies to help them learn the basic rules of reading in a fun and exciting way.
An online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlighted as they are being read and the pages turn automatically. Students may also choose to read manually and bookmark their progress.
This website requires a username and password. If your student doesn’t know the log-in information, please contact their teacher or webmaster@denalischool.org. Include your child’s and teacher’s names.
This is a great research site. Just type in the name of presidents, inventors, educators, scientists, business men and women etc. These stories are presented to inspire the student to follow their examples of courage, determination, honesty and willingness to work. There are also online and printable games, activities, worksheets, and tests related to each biography.

Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they’ve read, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Book Adventure was created by and is maintained by Sylvan Learning.
