PTA and MAC

Two parent boards, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Montessori Advisory Committee (MAC), assist in organizing and fundraising at Denali. Both groups hold joint monthly meetings. Check the online Denali calendar for dates and times.

Montessori Advisory Committee: The purpose of the Denali Montessori Advisory Committee is to strengthen the Denali Montessori community so that the Montessori program can evolve with purposeful cooperation and common vision. To this end, the committee will:  advocate for the program in the community, engage in planning with the school administration to set program goals, work with teachers and school administration to meet program goals through fund raising and volunteer participation in the classroom, provide parent education in Montessori principles, and foster a spirit of community among those in the program. (Denali Montessori Advisory Committee Amended Bylaws (11-91) Section I.)

Every parent, step-parent and/or guardian of a student at Denali is a member of MAC, no enrollment form or dues are necessary. All members may vote at meetings and at elections.

PTA: Denali Montessori PTA sponsors a variety of extracurricular programs, activities and events aimed at enriching the K-6 experience for students. Some of these programs include Denali Community Schools, The Back-to-School Picnic, the Fall and Spring Book Fairs, the Spelling Bee, Battle of the Books, The Geography Bee, our annual Fall Carnival, Cross Country Running, Artist in Residence and the Science Fair. All proceeds from fundraisers and the annual PTA memberships (dues)  are put back into the school for the benefit of all of the Denali students. PTA works closely with staff to determine how funds need to be spent. We welcome input from parents at our monthly meetings. Check the Denali Calendar for dates and times.

PTA is always looking for volunteers! For this year, we are in great need of interested people (parents, middle and high school aged siblings, grandparents, friends) who have time during the school day to come in and read one-on-one with students, as needed.
