ROOM 133 NEWS - AUGUST 28, 2008

August 28th, 2008

Dear Parents,

It was such a pleasure to meet you and your child during our kindergarten profile meeting. It definitely helped us have a very smooth beginning to our year. I am sure your child is EXHAUSTED at the end of the day. The children are working very hard to remember all of the rules and routines of our school. They are doing an excellent job!

Please take a few minutes to review the Denali Expectations paper with your child. It is in today’s Thursday Folder. THIS IS HOMEWORK FOR YOUR CHILD! It will need to be signed and returned to school next week. Thank you for your support with this.

I am sending a paper copy of this newsletter to you today as well as an e-mail newsletter. If you have e-mail access but did not get the e-mail letter, please let me know the correct address and I’ll try again. If you do not have access to e-mail or would prefer just a paper copy, please let me know that as well. I hope to have that worked out by next week.

Thank you so much for sending in all of the supplies. Some parents have been waiting to send things in until we know what we might need for our shared supplies. Looks like we could use more paper towels, napkins, glue sticks and gallon zip lock baggies. No rush on any of these. It is also a good idea to check the “wish list” periodically in the hall for other things we might need for the class. I sure appreciate it.

It would be helpful if you take a few minutes to write your child’s name inside backpacks, coat labels, and on the outside of lunch boxes. Also on gym shoes if you have not yet sent those to school with your child.

I’ll be sure to get in touch with you if I have questions or concerns about your child at school. Please know that I am counting on you to do the same.

Thank you so much for all of your support as we start the school year. We have many wonderful things ahead to learn and share with you. Have a terrific long weekend with your family.

Sincerely,

Tami Phelps
